LTA Big Tennis Weekend is coming to The Avenue Lawn Tennis Squash & Fitness Club
Don’t miss your chance to pick up a squash or tennis racket and play at our Open Day on Saturday 16th July from 12-4pm.
It is all about having fun, with coaching, games, and social events, so you can guarantee a great day with friends and family. We can provide rackets and balls, so anyone can come along and play.
Welcome to Havant’s ‘best kept secret’ – The Avenue Lawn Tennis, Squash and Fitness Club.
If you would like to play tennis on the best grass courts on the south coast, or on our superb all-weather outdoor courts, then come along and try us out.
We also have 3 well maintained squash courts, which can be used for squash or racketball. A well-equipped gym, a range of fitness classes and a comfortable lounge bar with a new extended balcony where members are sure of a friendly welcome and a great choice of keenly priced drinks, including excellent beers, real ale, spirits, wines and soft beverages. It’s open every evening from 6pm and 12:30pm to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday. We also offer a very competitive social membership for those that want to use the club social facilities but no longer participate in sporting activities. Our bar will be open during our open day event, light refreshments will also be available to purchase.
Participants can sign up for sessions in advance such as: Squash and tennis coaching taster sessions, free play on our courts, or try out our Wingfield Smart court technology. All sessions can be booked here please ensure you wear suitable footwear to take part in activities.
We’ll help teach kids new life skills, developing them as both players and people. No matter what your ability you’ll have fun on court with of junior players your age. Coaches will be on hand to offer tips to help your game and advice on how you can continue to play. (These sessions are aimed at children who are not currently on our coaching programme)
Try our adult coaching taster session. Ideal for people new to the sport or who haven’t picked up a racket in a long time. You can borrow our rackets if you don’t have your own, just come prepared to hit a few balls and have some fun.
Get on court with your family and have some fun. We’ll provide modified balls and rackets for the younger ones and coaches will be on hand to give you some pointers if you want them.
If you don’t fancy a coaching session why not just try out our facilities. You can book a slot on one of the courts for free!
This event is part of a national Big Tennis Weekend campaign promoted by the LTA taking place all over the country encouraging thousands of people head to their local tennis courts for free.
