We are delighted to once again host the LTA Summer County Cup, one of the oldest competitions in the domestic tennis calendar, dating back to 1895. The Avenue has been a proud partner of the LTA for many years and is honoured to welcome players and supporters to this prestigious event.

This year we will be hosting Ladies Group 6, featuring teams from:

• North Scotland
• Herefordshire & Worcestershire
• Dorset
• Staffordshire
• Suffolk
• Wiltshire

We encourage all members to come along, support the event, enjoy some excellent tennis, and extend the warm Avenue welcome for which our club is renowned.

Event Catering

We are delighted to introduce a new partnership with Bronte’s Café, who will be providing catering throughout County Week. Many of you may already know Bronte’s from their popular horsebox cafe located just across Langstone Bridge.

Throughout the event, Bronte’s Café will be offering a delicious selection of:

• Breakfast items
• Fresh sandwiches
• Salads
• Homemade quiches
• Scones and cakes
• Tea and coffee

Whether you’re coming along to watch the tennis, meeting friends, or simply enjoying the club atmosphere, we encourage you to support our catering partners and treat yourself to some excellent food and refreshments during the week.

Club Bar

The club bar will be open daily from 12:00 noon, serving our full range of refreshments.

Club Kitchen

Please note that the club kitchen will be out of bounds to members from Saturday 18 July until the evening of Friday 24 July inclusive.

This closure is necessary to allow preparations for the Club Championship Finals Day on Saturday 18 July followed by County Week.

During this period, members will not be able to:

• Make tea or coffee in the kitchen
• Store food in the club fridge

We encourage members to make use of the catering facilities available throughout the week.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

General Information

To accommodate fitness classes that would normally take place in the function room, some classes have been temporarily moved to the squash courts. This will help ensure normal club activities can continue throughout County Week.

If you have any questions regarding the event or arrangements during the week, please do not hesitate to contact the office.

Play Schedule

Play begins daily at 10:30am.

Catering facilities will be open from the start of play, with the club bar opening at 12:00 noon each day.

Come along to enjoy some high-quality tennis while soaking up the friendly social atmosphere the club is known for.

Tennis Court Availability

Grass Courts

The grass courts will be reserved daily for County Cup matches until 7:00pm.

Hard Courts

The hard courts will be reserved from 10:00am – 7:00pm daily as contingency courts in the event of poor weather.

Hard courts may be released for member use depending on weather conditions. Please check the online booking system after 9:00am each day for updates on availability.

Important Note

Occasionally, County Cup matches may continue beyond 7:00pm.

If you have an evening court booking, please check with the referee upon arrival to confirm that your court is available. If your booked court is still required for County Cup play, every effort will be made to move your booking to the next available court.
