Ladies Division 2 – Avenue 2 losing draw v Ventnor 2 (2-2) – Vicki White, Sarah Long, Zoe Larkin, Debbie Berry

Match report

On a beautiful sunny Saturday morning, the Ladies 2s travelled to Ventnor for a challenging fixture. Sarah and Vicky needed a set to adjust to the tarmac surface but responded strongly, finishing with a convincing win in the match tie break. On the other court, Debbie and Zoe faced a formidable first pair and had little time to settle, but showed great resilience to fight back and claim the second rubber, also in a match tie break. The match ended in a 2–2 losing draw, but against strong opposition the team were pleased to head home with a well-earned point. Vicki White

Mens Division 2 – Avenue 2 beat Chichester 2 (4-0) – Mike Robinson, Matt Lee, Lloyd Sampson, Ross MacPherson

Mixed Division 1 – Avenue 1 lost to Lee 1 (1-3) – Natalie Denby, Lloyd Sampson, Anna Newman, Toby Arul-Pragasam

Ladies Masters Division 1 – Avenue 1 beat Warsash 1 (3-1) – Viola Masona, Jenny Smith, Gill Clarke, Debbie Berry

Ladies Masters Division 2 – Avenue 2 lost to Swanmore 2 (1-3) – Alison Clarke, Katherine Arnold, Denise Simper, Becky Howarth

Match report

Alison/Katherine and Becky/Denise had a very hard match, not only with balls bouncing so high (poor Denise being the shortest needed a trampoline to help her!!) but it was also very windy and the sun shone on the courts. However we did very well losing  3/1 6/3 in sets  45/39 in games. Well played team and thank you. Jenny Ward
