The final match for Ladies 1 was an away trip to Lee. It was a league deciding match where Avenue could have become champions. Unfortunately, it was not to be. Sian and Helen kindly agreed to step up from Ladies 2 to help us fulfil the fixture. Lee fielded a very strong team which meant that we lost 4-0. I am so proud as captain to say how hard we all fought this winter season. We had some great results and pushed right to the end. Thanks to everyone who played. Match report
Thanks to my team today (Caron/Dawn/ Denise/Sarah) for beating Wickham under very strong winds by 3 rubbers to 1, 6 sets to 2 and 41 games to 33. WE HAVE WON THE LEAGUE !! Whoopee!! I had the pleasure of watching and now have a burnt face from the sun and wind but worth it to see us win. Thank you all for participating in the victory it is a pleasure to be your captain.
I would like to thank all my ladies for supporting me (made my job easy), they are all dedicated and responsive to requests. Over the winter 2024/2025 we have won Ladies Masters Division 2 and East Hants Division 3. A massive thank you to new pairing of Sarah and Denise who have not lost a match in either league. Also many thanks to Rob/Anna/James for giving us the opportunity to play our home matches at the Avenue it certainly helped us to be victorious. Our first summer 2025 match is on the 9th April.
