We are delighted to announce that the grass courts opened for the Summer 2026 season on Wednesday 22nd April.

The booking system is now open for grass court reservations.

A huge thank you goes to our groundsmen, Graham and Ben, for their hard work throughout the closed season. Despite the very wet winter, they have completed essential renovations and prepared the courts for opening. The Air2 aerator and new grass spiker have been a valuable addition to the court machinery in this regard. You may have also seen Graham & Ben using a ride-on ‘one-ton’ roller over the past week, which is the first time we have carried this out with the objective to improve the “early season” bounce whilst the courts are soft.

Note: The grass court watering system is due to be extended in the coming weeks, with a second water tank being installed adjacent to the existing one on Court 5, along with additional sprinklers across the baselines. Unfortunately, our contractors were unable to complete this work during the closed period. We will update members as soon as a firm installation date is confirmed, the disruption will be minimal and there will be no invasive work carried out on the court surfaces to carry out the upgrades. 

Please note the following important information for opening:

• No grass shoes of any kind may be worn on the grass courts until further notice.

• The courts will become damp in the early evening from around 7.00pm. Please take care, as dew makes the grass slippery, increasing the risk of accidents and causing additional court wear.

• Court 5 will not open until midday for this reason.

• Grass courts may be subject to short-notice closures due to weather-related issues. If this occurs, where possible you will be contacted and your booking will be cancelled
