Nearly 50 players have now signed up for the new Avenue singles league ladder – but those who haven’t played a match yet have less than two weeks do so or drop down the table.

Katie and Andy Rowley are the latest players to join the league and both will be assigned places in the middle of the ladder as they start their campaign in earnest.

However both could find themselves moving upwards sooner rather than later as those that haven’t played by the end of the month will all find themselves being demoted below those that have – regardless of ability level.

This is to ensure the ladder remains as competitive as possible and to reward players that make the effort to play.

While men’s champion James Rosenthal remains at the top, ladies champion Natalie Denby is moving ever upwards after three wins out of three.

And two players with four games under their belts already are George Knight and Adam Tolmie, both with three wins out of four.
